hopeful

The potatoes have been chitting for ages.  They would normally be planted on Good Friday, but it doesn't seem warm enough yet.  In the meantime, I've decided that it really is time to sow my tomatoes and peppers.

A lovely way to spend a sunny hour. And who'd have thought a bathroom could be such a multifunctional space?

Does seem cold for potatoes.

Have known people to use bathrooms as dark-rooms but not (until now) as potting sheds!

My potatoes look like this too. They are on the kitchen table with a tray of broad bean seedlings. Our vegetable beds have been covered in snow for more than a week now and I think I am going to have to resort to containers because at least then the soil inside won't be frozen. You have made me realise that there is also a bit of space in the bathroom ...

The ground is still like concrete here so no outdoor gardening going on whatsoever. I suppose it can't last forever!!

Thanks for the reminder to get started on the tomatoes now.. I forget to plant seed this time of year and always end up buying young plants. This weekend !!! :)
