It seems to have become a tradition to post a picture of the newly emerging asparagus. A few days earlier this year than last. I swear that between taking this picture and leaving for home a couple of hours later, it had grown at least another inch.
Soft boiled eggs and asparagus dippers for tea at the weekend maybe.

No asparagus for me but the rhubarb is making a good start.
I couldn't have eaten that pie and mash in your last post. Pie maybe but no mash and definitely nothing runny on mash. I'm funny like that...
I've suddenly realised, seeing your beautiful photo, that I've never actually seen asparagus in situ, either for real or in an image. It's quite an alien looking plant, isn't it. Delicious, though. I favour it in a risotto.
Porridge for tea in a previous post, boiled eggs and asparagus in this ... oh I could so join you in such delights! But the pie and mash? No thanks!
Ah how I crave these seasonal updates on your marvellous asparagus patch. How green and fresh and thrusting and good those new spears look!
I got a goose egg at the weekend and had it with my first pickings of landcress. Thought of you and John and your superior veg-growing SKILLZ!
