seeing the light
Who would have thought that spring would arrive so suddenly? By Monday afternoon, the sun was trying to penetrate the dusty rain-spattered windows and after months of washing hanging up indoors it was warm enough for it to dry outside on the line. But surely the biggest breakthrough has been that after years of being totally perplexed by the twists and turns of the crochet hook, I can actually crochet . Through these cold winter months, I have spent hours secretly labouring away at my chain stitches and doubles and half trebles and trebles and, at last, the fog has cleared.
It's a wonderful thing when you finally see the light.

Looking forward to seeing the product of all your hard work. Love the picture!
Congratulations! It's always exciting to master a new craft.
That is excellent...Congratulations
as a very new knitter (despite being rather close to 50..cough blush) I kind of know how you feel isn't it great!
Now I'm trying chain stitch and single crochet so you never know!
Well done you. What will you make?
don't laugh (well not too loud) thought I might try a bag....
did I hear someone mutter ambitious fool...lol
Val - I've been eyeing up the patterns myself! Just need the right yarn, and I reckon I'll be away. Mind you, I'm not quite sure why I might need another bag...
Well, that gives me hope! Love knitting, sewing, embroidery, smocking etc etc but have never learned to crochet. However, I do have the Ladybird Book of Crochet which I am assured will tell me all I need to know. You've spurred me on.
The Ladybird book is brilliant! The first thing it tells you to do is to wash your hands. My friend has been using it.
Does Ladybird do a book of plumbing? I could do with that just now...
Don't laugh we learnt to knit with the Ladybird knitting book! Still use it actually :0)
Ok Colleen ..I can accept a challenge... but so far no Ladybird book on Plumbing ...toys and games to make yes ...plumbing no...and
It would make such a lovely visual image blow torch in one hand ladybird book in 'tuther lol
