Aaaaah, Clothkits. I remember it from the first time round in the 1970s; my daughter's wardrobe and toybox were full of Clothkits things! I think she still has the multi-coloured owl, complete with flapping wings . . .
Snap! My seven year old daughter and I made the version of this with the green dress over Christmas. We've also made her another dress having used the printed one as a template. Although I'm the right age (45) I never had any Clothkits stuff first time round - I think my mum probably would have thought them a bit 'hippyish' - so I'm getting a great deal of enjoyment from having an excuse to make them this time round.Best wishes, Joan
Oh no! Now you've reminded me that I have a Clothkits skirt (with zip!)waiting to be sewn.
What a lovely set of comments - thank you! D - I'd love to see that owl. I noticed that Clothkits are making available some of their old toy kits so maybe the owl will turn up again.Joan - Great minds. I copied the pattern too.Liz - That Trellick Towers skirt - still waiting to see the F.O.
I really wish that ClothKits were not so darn expensive for us Yanks! Love their stuff. That doll is so cute!!
Did you see their amazing Barbican cushion? They were at the do something different weekend, purveying both these lovely dolls and some gorgeous Barbican cushions. I love clothkits and you've done a gorgeous job with this one!
